(This is a long one - just warning you.) When we arrived in Paris it was dark, but the city was aglow in beautiful lights. Our hotel was up one of the little streets from the Rue de Rivolli, a long street that runs parallel from the Tuileries Gardens, with very posh shops and restaurants. Our hotel was beautiful Hotel Mayfair. Welcome. It had the smallest old-fashioned elevator. It was barley large enough to fit both Eric and I. We had a lovely dinner of boeuf bourguignon and very friendly French men at Lescure Restaurant near our hotel. We then we headed out for a night on the town! We walked along the Seine to the Eiffel Tower, over to the Arc de Triomphe and down the grandiose Avenue des Champs Elysees. As we were walking towards the Eiffel Tower it started sparkling! So romantic! This is a replica of the Statue of Liberty's torch called 'Flame of Liberty'. An Apple A Day Fall is definitely here. The seagulls have stopped squealing, the tourists have dissipated, the leaves are changing and the air is much cooler. It's the time for cozy sweaters, warm soups and snuggles under the blanket. It's also time for apples! I heard about this apple festival from the girls at work. It sounded like fun so we journeyed through the country about an hour to Middle Farm. It is all things apple here. They had scones, turnovers, ciders, mead, cakes, sausages, cheeses... all make with apples. And they were pressing their own apples and pears for the best juice in the WORLD! We should have purchased more because it was gone in two days. I HAVE to get a juicer when I get home. They also had a little carnival for the kiddies. This tent had at least fifty different varieties of apples to try and purchase. I think I ended up consuming at least three whole apples from trying them. This was the monster apple. It was bigge...

Chupa Chups

I have three (yes 3!) classes left on my course at Uni. I can't believe how time just flew by. With the extra week I took off from Uni for our trip to Amsterdam and Switzerland and work at the cupcakery (which I still LOVE!) I am now finding myself pretty busy with schoolwork and not much time for my weekly Starbucks chats with my beloved friends. I miss you Kat and Becca! However, I thought I would give a shout out and tell you what I'm doing at school. If you care. Which you probably don't. So I don't blame you for just skipping this one. But my project has been quite fun this term. If you know me you will know I love candy. I'm a candy fiend. It's a problem. I'm trying to work on it (I say 'try' loosely here). So, when the opportunity came up in my New Product Development class to create a new product for Chupa Chups I jumped on that wagon like nobody's businesses. I thought, 'how hard could this be?'
