Musei Vaticani

Vatican City is amazing. The Museum even more so. We were smart enough to book our tickets online before we left so we didn't have to wait in a huge line to get in.
We decided to forgo the group tour and just see things on our own. Tours bore us and we really don't like having to follow the crowd. So instead we purchased our own guidebook and consulted that whenever we were curious about something particular.
I love this spiral staircase. I want one.
For the most part we just looked at a few things here and there. We were really getting some information overload at the beginning and were starting to bust our brains.
Every day was absolutely beautiful. Blue skies and fluffy clouds, they almost looked fake!

Last time I was here I remember how intrigued I was with the Gallery of Maps. There was so much to look at and learn of the changing territories during different periods in Roman history.
I didn't remember the Modern Religious Art room but when we passed through it there were some pretty crazy paintings. But I did like how simple it was. After going through room after room of amazing historical pieces it just got so overwhelming.
We finally arrived to the most anticipated room in the Museum; the Sistine Chapel. It was amazing.
We weren't allowed to take photos or talk but we didn't know that until we had already committed the crime. People were sneaking a pic every now and then regardless. There were attendants 'shhhhing' people the entire time. They were louder than the people whispering! Their efforts were a lost cause.
