Ben was Right!

Oh Switzerland, beautiful, beautiful Switzerland. You are my new favorite country and I love you. Ben was right about one thing, Switzerland is wonderful and absolutely stunning. I'm so glad he suggested we all visit this country as well.
We rented a car rather than use the public transportation. I'm glad we did in a way because we were able to just drive rather than try to figure out which train to take at the right times. But we couldn't have done it without our trusty Mask characters (and the Garmin).
Our trusty mascots navigated our way to our hotel from the airport. But mostly they just enjoyed the view.
The drive to our hotel in Montreux was around an hour from Geneva airport. We arrived in the evening and took a stroll around the area a bit.
This is the view from our hotel room. The town of Montreux is surrounded by beautiful vineyards and near the town of Evian (yes, it's where the bottled water comes from - really!) and was home to Charlie Chaplin (for 25 years), Freddie Mercury (the lead singer of Queen) and where Le Corbusier built (designed) Villa Le Lac for his parents.
We stayed in the first hotel built in Montreux. Yep, it was old but it was well kept and full of character. The owner of the hotel said that the Beetles stayed here! Here is the view from our room.
Here is my best attempt of getting a photo of the hotel - but it's not the best visual for it.
When we checked in we had requested a lake view and there were two left to choose from. The owner termed the two rooms the 'democrate' room or the 'republican' room. He said he could always tell what political party his guests tend to favour. The republican room had one feature this ours didn't.
This is our room.
Check out the bathroom.
See anything missing?
Yep - walls. Sans privacy.
We didn't mind really. Eric said he liked having the view for his morning dump.
And what a view it was.
