Pancake Day

As we try our best to adapt to the customs and traditions of our English experience we were happy to participate in the tradition of "Pancake Day" or Shrove Tuesday. On this day nearly everyone in the UK is said to consume at least one pancake for this tradition before Lent. Since Lent is a time of abstinence Shrove Tuesday is the last chance to indulge and use up the foods that are not allowed. So, pancakes are eaten on this day because they contain fat, butter and eggs which are forbidden during Lent. It's a delicious tradition.
Happy Pancake Day everyone!
